Kampurse ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. It aligns with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (NDPA).
This is a plain-language policy, not legal advice. Please have it reviewed by a lawyer licensed in Nigeria before relying on it.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email, phone number, password (stored hashed), campus, profile type.
- Verification data: matriculation number, school details, and ID documents you upload for seller verification.
- Transaction data: orders, bookings, payments, escrow holds, withdrawals, and delivery records.
- Content you post: listings, images, reviews, and messages to other users.
- Technical data: device, browser, and basic usage logs needed to operate and secure the platform.
We do not collect or store your card details — payments are processed by Paystack.
2. How we use your data
- To operate your account, marketplace, orders, and payouts.
- To verify student identity and keep the platform safe from fraud.
- To send transactional notifications (order updates, payouts, verification decisions).
- To improve the platform and resolve disputes.
We do not sell your personal data.
3. Who we share data with
- Other users, as needed: e.g. your name and campus are visible to counterparties in a transaction; delivery agents see what they need to deliver.
- Service providers: payment processing (Paystack), image hosting (Cloudinary), and infrastructure hosting — each bound to protect your data.
- Authorities: where required by Nigerian law or a valid court order.
4. ID documents and verification
ID documents are used solely to verify student identity. They are visible only to the administrators reviewing your application — never to other users — and access is logged.
5. Storage and security
- Passwords are hashed; traffic is encrypted in transit; databases are access-controlled.
- No system is perfectly secure — please keep your credentials private and report suspicious activity immediately.
6. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes afterwards. Deactivating your account disables your profile; financial and audit records required by law are retained.
7. Your rights
Under the NDPA you may request to:
- Access or correct your personal data (much of it editable in your profile settings).
- Withdraw consent for optional processing such as marketing emails.
- Request deletion where no legal retention duty applies.
Contact us through the help channels in your dashboard to exercise these rights.
8. Cookies and tracking
We use a small number of cookies and local storage entries to keep you signed in and remember preferences. See our Cookie Policy for details.
9. Children
Kampurse is intended for tertiary-institution students and staff. Accounts must meet the age requirements in our Terms of Service.
10. Changes to this policy
We will announce material changes in-app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
