Terms of Service

Last updated: October 11, 2026. Please read these terms carefully before using Kampurse.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Kampurse marketplace ("Kampurse", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Kampurse.

These terms are written in plain language for clarity. They are not a substitute for independent legal advice — please have them reviewed by a lawyer licensed in Nigeria before relying on them.

1. Who can use Kampurse

  • You must be a student of, or otherwise affiliated with, a supported Nigerian tertiary institution.
  • You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
  • One account per person. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

2. Accounts and verification

  • Buyers may browse and purchase once registered.
  • To sell (list products or services), you must complete student verification: a valid matriculation number, school details, and an ID document, approved by an administrator.
  • Unverified accounts may create draft listings but cannot publish them.
  • We may suspend or deactivate accounts that violate these Terms or submit false information.

3. Listings and prohibited items

Vendors are responsible for the accuracy of their listings (title, description, price, stock, images). The following are prohibited:

  • Illegal goods or services, stolen items, weapons, drugs, and exam malpractice services.
  • Counterfeit or misrepresented items.
  • Listings that infringe intellectual property rights.
  • Spam, duplicate, or misleading listings.

We may remove listings or suspend vendors that breach these rules, with or without notice.

4. Orders, payments, and escrow

  • Payments are processed securely through our payment provider (Paystack). We never see or store your card details.
  • Buyer funds are held in escrow when an order is paid. Funds are released to the vendor when you confirm receipt, or automatically where applicable.
  • Prices are in Nigerian Naira (₦). Vendors set their own prices.

5. Fees and commissions

  • Creating an account and listing items is free.
  • Kampurse charges a platform commission on each sale (currently 5%, which may vary by product category). The commission is deducted automatically before the vendor is paid.
  • Delivery fees, where offered, are set by vendors and shown before checkout.

6. Fulfilment and delivery

  • Vendors choose which fulfilment options they offer: self pickup, in-campus delivery, or outside-campus delivery.
  • Buyers select an available option at checkout. Delivery timelines stated on listings are the vendor's responsibility.
  • Where platform-managed delivery is offered, tracking is provided in your dashboard.

7. Refunds

Refund requests are handled through our escrow process — see our Refund Policy for how to request a refund, timelines, and how decisions are made.

8. Withdrawals

  • Vendors may withdraw available earnings to their bank account at any time.
  • Large withdrawals (₦100,000 and above) require administrator approval before release.
  • Withdrawals rejected by an administrator are refunded to the vendor's wallet in full.

9. Acceptable conduct

  • Treat other users respectfully in chats, reviews, and transactions.
  • Do not attempt to complete transactions off-platform to evade commissions — accounts found doing so may be suspended.
  • Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. Fake, paid, or retaliatory reviews are prohibited.

10. Intellectual property

The Kampurse name, logo, and platform design belong to us. By posting content (listing text, images, reviews), you grant us a licence to display it on the platform. You retain ownership of your content.

11. Liability

  • Kampurse provides the marketplace venue; the contract of sale is between buyer and vendor. We are not a party to individual transactions, except as escrow holder.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the fees paid to us for the transaction in question.
  • We do our best to keep the platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

12. Termination

You may deactivate your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. Pending escrow funds are always settled fairly on termination.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

14. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Questions about these Terms? Contact us through the help channels in your dashboard.
